The Community Foundation helps you support the causes and organizations that matter to you while maximizing your tax deduction, and provides assurance that funds will be managed wisely. Here are four steps to guide you through the giving process.

1. What charitable work do you wish to support?

1. For ideas, see our list of recent competitive grant recipients. (PDF)
2. Establish a new fund to support the charity(ies) of your choice or a specific field of interest.
3. Add to an existing fund such as:

• Our Community Scholarship Fund, providing scholarships for local students.
• Our regional Grantmaking Funds, supporting the community's highest priorities in the regions we serve.
• Our Annual Fund, supporting the operations of the Community Foundation.
• Our 5 & Under Initiative, providing Access to Opportunity for Children Ages 0-5 in Poverty.
• Another of our existing funds.

2. Decide how much you wish to contribute.
3. Decide what assets you wish to give.
4. Decide whether you wish to make a planned gift.
